Seventy-five percent of the Earth’s surface is composed of water – ocean water, to be more specific. Such a large portion of our planet, just waiting for us to make use of it.

For years, our hydroelectric energy ideas focused mainly on rivers and other bodies of freshwater. We have completely forgotten that this is just a very small part of Earth’s surface water.

Now, nearly all of our rivers and lakes have dams built on them, yet we still need more to accommodate our ever increasing need for energy.

It’s time that we begin looking into the potential of ocean water as a renewable energy source. We have the knowledge needed to make such a thing possible, and all we need to do is to put our minds to work and come up with ways to utilize this unique energy source.

This video shows us some of the more successful projects that use ocean water and tidal wave energy to generate power for consumers. Some of them are already in use in different countries in the world, and so it would be wise for us to follow suit.
